Pool Table Recovering
New cloth on the bed and rails, and the slate seen properly.
Cloth fails at the break spot, along the top rail under resting hands, and at the pocket mouths. When one goes the rest is rarely far behind, so replacing everything costs less than replacing it twice.
It is also the one visit where the slate is uncovered, so seams, bolts and rubber get inspected rather than assumed, and the level gets put right while there is nothing standing in the way.
Choosing the cloth
The job that never touches the stairs, because nothing leaves the room.
- Old cloth off the bed and off the rails, and the slate read while it is bare.
- Anything out of true gets corrected then, with nothing standing in the way.
- Woollen carries a nap and runs slower, which forgives a room where the standard varies.
- Worsted is smooth and quick, the league and hall surface. Balls carry further than newcomers expect.
- Rubber can go on at the same visit, and should if the cushions return dead.
A basement that runs damp through the summer is hard on cloth, harder still on a table only played at weekends. Send the size and whether you want pace or control.
What finished looks like
We here at Philadelphia Pool Table Movers guarantee all of our work. If you use our services and feel that we did something incorrectly, or that your table is becoming unlevel, we will come back out to fix the issue. This is good for six months after your service is completed.
Our normal appointment times are at 8 or 9 am and 1 or 2 pm. If we need to carry the table up stairs there is an additional cost starting at $45, depending on the table size. On a home to home move we do not charge extra for a single flight of stairs on a three piece slate table. We do not move one piece slate pool tables.
